Rika & Maria

Rika and Maria

One white woman. One black woman. One severely disabled boy.

Maria could not have children of her own.

So, she loved this disabled boy as if he were her own.

She looked after him so Rika could work to support the boy, to support Maria.

Indispensable they were to him, to each other, even now after his death.

They still bicker about silly things, they still laugh at silly people,

but mostly they miss the disabled boy.
